We are saddened to learn of the recent passing of WA soccer pioneer and co-founder, Helga Grosch. Washington Youth Soccer will be eternally gratefully to Helga and her husband Karl Grosch for their work in the formation of youth soccer in Washington. In addition to co-founding Washington Youth Soccer and Federal Way Youth Soccer, Helga served as Secretary and later Historian of the former; she was inducted into the Washington Youth Soccer Hall of Fame in 2019.
In honor of Helga’s memory and her tireless work for the young athletes in our state, Washington Youth Soccer is naming the Girls’ U13 Founders Cup trophy the Helga Grosch Trophy.
We wish Helga’s family and friends the best during this time, and want to recognize her once again for everything she did for our organization over the years.
